About Me

My name is Tamara, and I recently graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in Hispanic Studies. I enjoy traveling, good food and wine, and spending time with my family, friends and of course my Sanz! I am greatly interested in different cultures, especially how they differ from or reflect America. I have been to several different countries, and I plan to visit many more in Europe during my time in Spain. I am teaching English to Spanish students for eight months. Please send any questions or comments that you may have. I’d love to help people better understand world cultures from a hands-on point of view!

Hey, your mom said you were going to Deutchland. Go to a small town call Garmish in Southern Bavaria. It is beatiful and looks like it is out of a fairytale book with the old Bavarian homes. Everyone is so nice. It is just a good stoping point on a trip to relax and sit on a bed & breakfast porch while eating and drinking wine and cheese. It has the greatest view of the Alps. Fussen is also a good place but a bit touristy with the Neunschwannstein Castle (the one that looks like the Disney castle.) Don’t go to the expensive hotels but stay in the hostels or bed and breakfast places in the center of town. Enjoy, Jennie

Thanks for the advice. I’ve already booked four hostels for the trip and bought my EUrail pass. It’s my biggest trip so far in life! I’m going to look up these towns tomorrow and see if they’re close to any of my destinations. I’ll let you know how it goes. Hasta pronto.
